This role is crucial to the delivery of this strategy and therefore you will

have gained your experience working in a large, complex organisation and will relish the opportunity of making your mark by owning the Learning and Development service of the Council. You will come with fresh ideas and a passion for working with the business to deliver a comprehensive and effect learning culture.

The Council are embracing digital learning, and the use of digital platforms to support the learning strategy. As such, you’ll need to bring your knowledge of digital learning platforms to create an effective user experience and deliver successful training outcomes.

For new employees, you’ll know that Learning and Development should be accessible from day one. So, you’ll need to review the current induction and onboarding processes to make sure that new employees have a clear development plan in place.

Developing the leadership and management of the Council is critical to the success of the council and the services provided to the citizens of Staffordshire. Working closely with the senior team you will provide an ambitious learning strategy that enables them to embrace development opportunities relevant to their roles.

You will not necessarily deliver learning interventions in this role, but lead the development and commissioning of exciting learning programmes that deliver to the learning demands across the whole council.

There is a high degree of autonomy to this role, and the Council’s expectation is for you to use your experience of Learning and Development to make an impact from the start.
