People Policy Development Manager – Interim 12 months

Do you have a background in developing policies for large, complex organisations?

Can you make an immediate impact?

Staffordshire County Council needs your skills.

They have launched a new people strategy which focuses on the retention and development of their staff and need your expertise to carry out a twelve-month review and refresh of all their people policies in line with the new People Values.

You will bring your substantial HR and Employment Law knowledge to develop policies which support this new programme. This is not a traditional policy development brief and they want fresh thinking and challenge to help build a new culture that enables managers to manage their teams to be their best. .

Without doubt , the key to success in this role will be your ability to forge relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll need substantial experience of working in complex organisations and be an effective communicator. You’ll be a skilled trade-union negotiator and be politically astute , you will understand the sensitivities required to implement the organisational change of this scale.

The Council have set an ambitious timescale for this project, so you’ll need to bring your first-class project management skills with you to manage the associated timelines.
