£61,777.00 - 72,597.00 Per Annum
Would you like to play a crucial role in the improvement of a much-loved local hospital?
The George Eliot Hospital NHS trust has a newly-created opening for an ambitious and tenacious Head of Financial Management like you.
During 2019, the hospital has restructured to reset itself for future improvements and have identified this role as being central to its future success. As the Head of Financial Management, you’ll be able to bring your knowledge of the best practice of financial management within the NHS to make an immediate impact within the department.
Supporting the Deputy Director of Finance, you’ll take the day-to-day responsibility for the financial management of the hospital, working closely with senior clinicians, operational staff and the executive board. Externally, you’ll work with clinical commissioning groups and support services, NHS Trusts and NHS Improvement as well as internal and external auditors. As with all NHS Trusts, managing resources is critical and ensuring that funds are allocated effectively is a crucial part of this role.
A key focus for this role is the improvement of the financial reporting to the board. As such, you will need to have experience of working within the NHS and a good understanding of NHS finance. In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the reporting timetables and quality of the management information provided to allow the board to make accurate decisions.
The Trust also operates a Finance Staff Development Programme, so you will play an important part in administering this as well as developing your direct reports and providing financial training for non-financial managers.
The local population relies heavily on the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. If you’d like to play a key part in the future success of this well-respected hospital, then contact Heather Clarke at Harris Burns for a detailed information pack on 01952 743243 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
