(HC74) Head of Risk and Assurance

Warwickshire | £50,000.00 - 62,000.00 Per Annum

We are looking for an effective, versatile, delivery-oriented assurance professional like you who can support an international development charity's vision for a better future.

This role will drive the effective implementation of the vision to transform the affordable homes market across Africa and Asia.

You will work across the organisation and with partners to ensure an effective regime of assurance processes are in place, assuring the board and donor organisations that funds are effectively expended as intended.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will develop and deliver a structured programme of assurance work to be delivered internally and across all partner activities by staff and outsourced providers.

Working closely with other Heads of Service, you will ensure that the process of gathering information is systematic, robust and monitors partner risk in a meaningful and consistent way.

Responsible for ensuring corporate risk and risk in relation to partner organisations, is managed effectively and reported.

You will be responsible for supervising and developing the Risk and Assurance Manager and developing the contracts and programme of work with outsourced assurance partners internationally.


Essential Skills
We are looking for a qualified accountant who is financially literate and has strong programme management experience alongside the relevant experience to develop and deliver a robust assurance process.

In this role you will be focused on interacting with senior management and staff across the organisation, donor and delivery partners so you will need to demonstrate the ability to work strategically and collaboratively across organisational boundaries.

You should demonstrate a systematic and thorough approach that retains a constructive, flexible and helpful attitude. Culturally sensitive, you also work well under pressure, are able to prioritise your own workload and work effectively as part of a wider team.

Desirable Skills
An understanding of international development and social enterprise would be highly beneficial.

The role will involve regular international travel to develop a thorough understanding of the assurance process appropriate for partner organisations and to develop and strengthen your personal knowledge and relationships with partner organisations and outsourced service providers.
