(HC84) Senior Rent and Service Charge Accountant
Leicestershire | £45,000.00 Per Annum
Are you a qualified accountant who enjoys working with big data?
Would you thrive in a large, complex organisation with several sites across the UK?
Can you lead a small team who want to learn and develop?
Our client, a large social housing organisation, is looking for someone with your skills.
They have an extensive portfolio of properties across the UK. They need someone like you to lead the team which calculates the service charges for each tenant in a building. As you can imagine, this incorporates a tremendous amount of data to process and create meaningful reports, which will be the main focus of your role. Ensuring that all the stakeholders’ charges are calculated correctly and fairly is a challenging task. But you will have the experience, knowledge, and drive to make sure your team excels.
Ideally a fully qualified accountant, you won’t necessarily have worked in the housing sector. Still, you will have worked in large, managed-services organisations in your career. Perhaps from financial services, utilities or a public sector body. Wherever you’ve worked previously, you’ll fully understand complex models and regulatory compliance. Due to the complexity of the data in this role, you’ll need to be a quick learner to understand the rents/service charges policies, associated legislation, and compliance demands involved.
The current team work well together and have an excellent work ethos. However, they will benefit greatly from your knowledge and experience to help them develop technically. You’ll be responsible for the setting and monitoring of performance metrics for your team, and training/developing them to achieve their targets. Customer service is a crucial metric for the organisation. Your team will play a vital role in this figure by ensuring the data you produce is accurate and in line with legislation/compliance bodies’ requirements.
There is much more to discuss about this role, so please contact Heather Clarke at Harris Burns for a detailed information pack on 01952 743243 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
